July 4th-Independence Day Neighborhood Picnic Celebrations -Aitkin City Park-4 p.m. pie & ice cream social, novelties, Independence Day Program, and don't forget to pack your picnic! Food vendors will be available too...and of course, the best fireworks in the area!! Buy your fireworks raffle tickets NOW for a chance to win great prizes!

July 4th -Crosby-Parade at 11am, music in the park and fireworks.

Aitkin County Fair-July 8-11- at the fairgrounds in Aitkin. Exhibits, carnival, food-Come into the Chamber booth for tons of great information about Aitkin County!

Riverboat Heritage Days - July 15th-18th Downtown Aitkin! Aitkin's Annual Summer Festival. Parade, two street dances, food, children's activities, heritage tour, historical displays and pageants-Get your raffle ticket for some great prizes to begiven away on stage on July 18th!

July 19-Outdoor Community Worship Service. 10 am at the Watters Pavaillion. Aitkin County Fairgrounds. Join the Aitkin United Methodist Church for a special service celebrating God's creation in word & song!Special music by the Riverboat Ramblers! Undesignated giving will be donated to the Food Shelf. August 1-Palisade River Fest. All events take place on Saturday! Firefighters competition at Berglund Park from 11 am to 3 pm. Other events begin downtown at 3! Games, raffles, drawings, music & food! DJ-3 to 7, beer garden, street dance with Billy Holiday-7 to midnight!

Aitkin Historical Pioneer Camp:   1st week:  August 10, 12, 14, & 22nd   2nd week:  August 17, 19, 21, & 22nd   Students ages 8-13 are invited to join the Pioneer Camp.  Only ten (10) openings in each weeks camp at a cost of $35.00 per student for the four days of camp.

Festival of Adventures and Mud River Music Fest – September 19th & 20th, 2009 -Aitkin City Park. This is a great educational family event! This historical rendezvous and music fest is provided by dedicated re-enactors and talented Celtic musicians. Buttons will be on Sale Sept. 1, with the cost of $5 pre-sale, $7 at the gate. Kids 15 & under are FREE!
