FESTIVAL OF ADVENTURES is Northern Minnesota's premiere living-history event held each September in Aitkin, MN. This year's festival dates are September 20-21, 2008. The festival celebrates the rich and colorful heritage of the Aitkin area, bringing to life the days of the fur trade, pinery camps, early pioneers and riverboats through living-history interpreters, and period-authentic demonstrations of early crafts and skills.

The MUD RIVER MUSIC FEST brings a variety of traditional music performances featuring top performers who represent the diverse ethnic folk traditions of the first people to settle in the region.
